Day 2. Yerevan – Khor Virap – Noravank – Areni – Yeghegnadzor

Breakfast in the hotel.

The Khor Virap is an Armenian Apostolic Church monastery located in the Ararat plain in Armenia, near the border with Turkey. Khor Virap's notability as a monastery and pilgrimage site is attributed to the fact that Grigor Lusavorich, who later became Saint Gregory the Illuminator, was initially imprisoned here for 13 years by King Tiridates III of Armenia. Noravank is a 13th century Armenian monastery. Noravank was founded in 1205 by Bishop Hovhannes, a former abbot of Vahanavank near the present-day city of Kapan in Syunik.

Lunch in a cave restaurant.

Trip to Areni village. Areni village is known as one of the most ancient wineries in the world. In 2011 archaeologists in Armenia announced the discovery of the world's oldest-known wine production facility. Located in the Areni cave complex, it consisted of a shallow basin to press grapes, a vat for storage, and fermentation jars. They also found grape seeds, remains of pressed grapes, and dozens of dried vines. The seeds were from Vitis vinifera a grape still used to make wine. The cave remains date to about 6000 BC - 900 years before the earliest comparable wine remains, found in Egyptian tombs.Visiting Areni wine factory. There you can taste and buy excellent wine.

Arrive in Eghegnadzor.

Day 3. Yeghegnadzor – Gladzor – Tanahat – Spitakavor – Yeghegnadzor

 Breakfast in the hotel.

Tour to Gladzor. Gladzor-village is situated in Vayots Dzor region, Gladzor was a major cultural center of medieval Armenia.

One of the most famous monasteries in Syunik region was Tanahat monastery, built on a picturesque mountain range. This monastic complex peaks reached its apogee in the XIII-XIV centuries, when the territory of the monastery operated one of the first and most famous Armenian universities and libraries – Gladzor.
University was a catholic school where worked the most famous scholars of that era, and the graduates of which involved not only spiritual activities, but also science and the creation of manuscripts. At the University acted as a school of painting, which, based on tradition, presented a very peculiar Armenian miniatures.

Visit Spitakavor church. Monastery Spitakavor also Tsahkavank is an Armenian monastery, situated 7 km south of the village Vernashen Vayots Dzor region of Armenia. The area is fragmented by deep gorges, on top of the nearest mountain is preserved fortress Proshaberd, or as it is called Boloraberd. In this monastery is situated a tomb of the great Armenian commander Garegin Nzhdeh. Each June 17, in honor of his birthday, Armenians from all over the world come and go on a pilgrimage to the village Vernashen Spitakavor. In spring on the slopes of the many flowers blooming and the church, buried in them likened to a flower, for which the people called Spitakavor Tsahkavank, which literally means "Flower Convent”. Day 4. Yeghegnadzor- Sisian – Shaki – Zorats Karer - Yeghegnadzor

Arrive to Sisian.

Excursion to the 18-meter waterfall Shaki. The place is a gorge, the steep slopes of which abound in the rocky niches and relatively deep caves.

Temple Sisivan. (End of VII century)

Tour Zorats Karer. Prehistoric monument, consisting of hundreds
 vertically based large stones with holes through the top.

Some scientists believe that the monument has a triple meaning:
1. The temple of the sun god of ancient Armenian and his "secretary" Tyr- patron of science and literature

2. Extensive and high Observatory, equipped with stone tools that allow you to make measurements with an accuracy of up to 30 seconds of arc (or 2 seconds of time)

3. University. The monument was built over 7,500 years ago (3500 years before Stonehenge) and acted in over 5500 years. Further careful study of the monument by different specialists is necessary.

Day 5. Yeghegnadzor – Goris- Khndzoresk – Tatev – Goris 

Breakfast in the hotel.

Arrive to  Goris.

Excursion to the cave city Khndzoresk.

Lunch.

Visiting the monastery Tatev IX-XVII centuries. The monastery is situated near the village of the same name Tatev, at the high right bank of the river Vorotan (Thunder). Before you get up to this breathtaking heights must descend into the canyon of 5 meters Vorotan, stay on "Devil's Bridge", a warm bath of mineral springs, which converge the two banks of the river and then opened with each turn of the new road is unique, beautiful scenery, get out of him. Powerful and non-criminal stronghold stands Tatev monastery on the cliff, terminating in the valley of the river Vorotan. The strategically advantageous location on a promontory formed by deep, rocky slopes of the Gorge, favored the creation of this powerful defense complex. The monastery is named in honor of St. Eustache (Armenian Evstatios-Statevos-Tatev) - disciple of the Apostle Fadeev, preach, as his teacher, Christianity, and a martyr who died for the new faith, in the Syunik province of historical Armenia. In 1390-1435 in the monastery acted Tatev university.

Observation of “Devil Bridge”- a natural bridge on the river Vorotan. Length is about 25 m, width-50-60m.

Day 6. Goris – Jermouk

Breakfast in hotel,

Arrival in Jermouk. The possibility of SPA procedures,

Excursion to the waterfall Jermouk and mineral springs,

Overnight in hotel.

 

Day 7. Jermouk – Yerevan

Breakfast in hotel,

Return to Yerevan
