ARARAT Cognac Factory
The history of brandy making in Armenia goes back to 1877, when first guild merchant Nerses Tairiants constructed the first factory off wine and vodka on the site of the former Yerevan fortress and here in 1887 he started the brandy production. Tairian's factory was equipped with distillers. In the rather well equipped for those times factory of Tairiants the French traditional technology for spirit distillation was used. In 1899 Tairiants sold his factory to the mighty Russian commercial industrial company ''Shustov & Sons'' and the fame of Armenian brandies went far beyond Russia, where the company enjoyed the highest honor of being the purveyor of the Court of Russian Emperor Nikolay the II. Later the factory becomes the property of Soviet Armenia, and in 1999 it joined the group Pernod Ricard.

The ARARAT brandy gently effects on all 5 senses of a person, thanks to its unique characteristics: deep amber color, vivid aroma, rich taste with a velvet texture, long aftertaste.

ARARAT brandies of the Yerevan Brandy Company are the legends embodying the soul of Armenia, its cultural and historical heritage and the craftsmanship of Armenian masters. ARARAT brandies have become a aspired attribute of the lifestyle of many generations since the times of the Russian Empire. And nowadays, centuries later, ARARAT is the most famous and successful brand of the Armenian brandy not only in Armenia, but all over the world.
